Albelda: ‘It leaves a bad taste in my mouth’

May 16th, 2006 | By: Ian | No Comments »

No, David Albelda is not speaking about an extra garlic pizza. He’s referring to Luis Aragones’ omission of Ruben Baraja in the World Cup squad.

Baraja, along with Liverpool forward Fernando Morientes, were both left off Luis’ final 23-man squad. Albelda plays at Valencia with Baraja and believes Baraja’s experience will be missed: “The midfielders that are going like (Marcos) Senna, (Andres) Iniesta and Cesc (Fabregas) have very few caps between them.”
