Another vote for Arteta

Everton coach David Moyes has urged Luis Aragones to take another look at versatile midfielder Mikel Arteta.

Arteta has been a big part of Everton’s recent form, which has moved the Merseysiders into the top half of the Premiership table. In 24 matches played, he has 1 goal and 5 assists this season. Back in August, it was his perfect free kick that nearly kept Everton alive in the Champions League against Villareal. Some consider him to be among the most creative midfielders in the Premiership at the moment, and with that will undoubtedly come a push for representation in Spain’s national side.

The bad news for Arteta, as Moyes even mentions, is that there isn’t much room for him in the Spain midfield. In fact, Luis Aragones believes Arteta isn’t even the pick of the litter on Merseyside. Would you take Liverpool’s Luis Garcia and Xabi Alonso over Arteta? Perhaps it would be in Luis’ best interest to make a visit to Anfield on Saturday for Everton-Liverpool.
