Barcelona Spain’s last hope

April 26th, 2006 | By: Ian | 1 Comment »

After Villarreal’s loss to Arsenal yesterday, in which Juan Roman Riquelme missed a penalty in the closing minutes, Barcelona is Spain’s last hope for Champions League glory.

Spain national team candidate Javi Venta was one of Villarreal’s top players in the game and made things even more difficult for Luis Aragones when selection time rolls around.

Meanwhile, Ronaldinho thinks a win in the CL could start a dynasty for Barca.

Barcelona qualified for the final, thanks in part to the ref, but is having trouble scoring goals. Arsenal, on the other hand, has not allowed a goal in 9 or 10 games… so I see a 0-0 final that might end up in penalty shootout
