Cesc: ‘On the pitch, there are no friends’

May 10th, 2006 | By: Ian | 1 Comment »

Catalan-born Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas is relishing Arsenal’s role as the underdog in next week’s championship clash with Barcelona.

“It has been like this for us throughout the whole season, against Real Madrid and Juventus,” Fabregas told the Spanish media.

Supporters of Spain’s national team should play close attention to the Champions League final May 17. Five potential national team players could see action in the match.

Arsenal: Cesc Fabregas and Jose Antonio Reyes
Barcelona: Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Puyol

The Fabregas vs. Xavi/Iniesta midfield match-up should be intriguing.

Barcelona is not like teams they played with before. It’s the best football team commonly recognized around the world. Admittedly, with its poor performance in El Madrigal Arsenal is quite lucky to get into the Champion final in Paris. If what Cesc says is true, I would like to see how Arsenal manage to beat FC Barcelona this time.
