Group H slogans

The team slogans for every World Cup team were announced earlier this month. Below is a breakdown of each Group H team’s slogan along with some analysis.

Ukraine – “With our support, Ukraine cannot fail to win!”
Apparently, Ukraine cannot fail to use a double negative.

Tunisia – “The Carthage Eagles… higher and stronger than ever”
I love a team with a good nickname like the Carthage Eagles. It’s unfortunate that flying higher and stronger than ever still means heading back to Tunisia after three matches.

Saudi Arabia - “The Green Hawks cannot be stopped”
Lacking creativity. Maybe it sounds a little more dramatic spoken in Arabic.

Spain – “Spain. One country, one goal”
I like this one, although I swear I’ve heard it before. I’m pretty sure the “one team, one goal” bit has been used by every amateur sports team in the world at one point.

double negative;
the use of two or more negative words in the same sentence to produce a strong emphasis on the positive or negative meaning in the verb. English usually uses two negatives to produce a strong positive meaning.

whats wrong with using a double negative ? Anyways, I dont know where Spain plans to score their one goal, but it won’t be against Ukraine

Pretty lame these slogans. My country’s slogan is “Orange on the way to gold”. Guess what country I’m from!

I thought “11 players, 16 million orange clad morons” is a better slogan. It’s more spot on.
