Spain

Next Up: Tunisia

Now that we have all had a few days to bask in the glory of Spain’s convincing win against Ukraine, it is time to turn our attention to Tunisia. The Carthage Eagles are an experienced team that is coming off a mediocre effort against Saudi Arabia.

This is a dangerous game for Spain. The team is feeling very good about themselves but they can’t afford to take Tunisia lightly. As we have seen with the Czech Republic and Italy, if you don’t fully concentrate on the second game than it doesn’t really matter how dominant you were in the first game.

We are in a great position and I only hope that we take care of business against Tunisia and punch our ticket to the next round.

What do you think are some of the keys to the game?

First of all dont do what the czechs and the italians did… Get men sent off for silly challenges. I thought the italy v usa game was the most diabolic game I have ever seen since WC 98, damn that match was horrible. I dont think spain is stupid enough to get men sent off but all it takes is one moment of madness and then your a man down.
Mind you I dont think Tunisia pose as much a threat as USA or even Ghana but a draw in this game for Tunisia could get their hopes up. So they will play hard no doubt and try and nick a draw though a doubt Spain will let that happen easily.
But really all Spain have to do is get a goal in each half and the game will be beyond tunisia.

This *is* a very dangerous game for Spain. But I believe La Seleccion is on guard for any let up. This team will aggressively attack everyone, and Tunisia will have it’s hands full just defending their goal in the first twenty minutes. If they withstand the initial assault, they might keep the game close. But I’m betting they won’t; Spain rolls, 3 – 0.

I think Spain will score a goal early probably off of a set piece, more then likely a corner. I think if this occurs we could see Fabregas OR Raul in the second half to first off give raul more confidence and show that they still believe in him. In addition putting Fabregas in there will get the young man some playing time.Tunisia’s captia Bouazizi will hopefully fid it hard to go over the top on the spainards. BUT tunisia’s back 4 are formidable. Should be interesting to see it play out. I Predict another 4-0 romp

Goal Scorers
1-Torres
2-Torres
3-Villa
4-Senna

Spain must keep its compusure and not get flustered if they are denied goals early. With steady pressure, Tunisia’s aging defense will wither in the second half.

First things first.
The priority now is to confirm the place in last 16.

We can think about Brazil when that moment comes.

Let’s hope for a repeat of 4 – 0 performance against Ukraine today also!

Tunisia is supposedly not as strong a team as the Ukraine side that Spain destroyed 4-0, but stranger things have happened at this World Cup, like Italy’s 1-1 draw with the United States. Now THAT was bizarre.

My prayer is Spain 3-0 Tunisia. Any permutation of Villa, Torres, and Raul to score.

But even 1-0 to Spain is really gonna make my day!

¡Vamos España!
