Spain and England: In the same boat?

May 31st, 2006 | By: Ian | No Comments »

This Spain preview from the Daily Mail suggests England and Spain often have similar expecations at the World Cup. And then also similarly fall on their face.

While Spain’s group is considerably easier than England’s at this year’s World Cup, the second round could match Spain with either France or Korea. Two solid teams. I’d prefer England’s options: Ecuador, Poland or Germany. I’d say England’s path to the quarterfinals is slightly easier .But then again, with these two teams, it’s getting PAST the quarterfinals that is the problem.
