Spain vs. Russia — a critical friendly

May 23rd, 2006 | By: Ian | No Comments »

Finally! It’s time for Spain’s team to take the field and actually play a match.

On a personal level, I’m very excited because I’ve been blogging about a team for two months and they’ve yet to play a match.

For Spain, this is the most important friendly of them all.

The match was scheduled for one reason — because Russia is a similar team to Ukraine. Luis Aragones has stated his line-up for the Russia match will be very close to the line-up his team will field during the World Cup, specifically against the Ukraine. More on Spain-Russia later.
