The Spain World Cup Blog meets the World Cup!
Yes, really.
Players have gone back to their clubs, and international football prepares for a long period of hibernation (not this blog, though; this blog will just get really, really sleepy), but I had a little something saved for a time such as this…
The World Cup.
The Spain World Cup Blog Was Here!
Alright, so the photo isn’t too out there… after four hours standing in line, you’d be blurry too! And apologies for the banner, it was a rush-order. But still, it’s the thought that counts, isn’t it?
More photos with Spain memorabilia under the jump, including the two Eurocopas, signed shirts, signed gloves, winner’s medals and… well, that’s about it.

A World Cup winner’s medal, and a huge golden plaque which will be all that Spain has left of the World Cup… unless we can win it again in four year’s time!

World Cup shirt signed by the players, World Cup jacket signed by the staff.

The Eurocopa! We haven’t forgotten about this one, have we?

The gloves that Casillas used to get us said Eurocup, signed and dirty.

OK, I bet you had forgotten about this one… Spain’s 1964 Eurocup, their last trophy of importance before the team we are enjoying now began collecting silverware.
This little Museum of Spanish Football has been touring Spain ever since La Roja brought back the World Cup, and it’s very encouraging to see the amounts of people (young, old, male, female, Spanish and otherwise) who gather to visit.
In other news, next Friday La Selección will be given the Prince of Asturias Award for Sports. Unfortunately, both Real Madrid and Barcelona have matches the next day, and their coaches have not allowed their players to go to Oviedo to be in the ceremony, but Del Bosque will be there along with players from Villarreal and hopefully other teams, so we’ll be bringing you the pics!
